With classes starting, it’s time for WVAU to return! Staff applications are live and the first event of the year will be this Saturday, Sept. 2, at 2:30 p.m. outside the Davenport Coffee Lounge. You’ll find AU’s own Berra and MASSAVE along with Razzberry, hailing from nearby Bethesda.

Berra’s unique voice punctures layered horns and low vocals on the first track, “You make it look easy,” of their EP, “Move it boy.” Berra’s music is full, complex and honest, anchored by their distinct “jagged ragged strings.”

MASSAVE, self-described in their Spotify bio as D.C.’s greatest indie band, is sure to perform their first single, “different times.” The track blends snappy drums and glittering riffs with angsty vocals that echo through the track.

Alt-rock band Razzberry sets the nostalgic but energetic tone that defines the end of summer and beginning of school. They’re the type of band that would crush the final week of a teen movie battle of the bands. Their last EP, “Goodbye Summer,” features moody basslines and sharp guitar riffs.

Come out this Saturday at 2:30 to enjoy free, local music and meet the e-board! You can follow Berra, MASSAVE, and Razzbery on Instagram.
