Public Service Broadcasting - Everest - Single (Test Card)

Sean Meehan

A gimmicky project that doesn’t really need the gimmick.

Public Service Broadcasting take their band name very literally, they use samples from old – you guessed it – public service broadcasts. This song uses clips from a documentary about Mount Everest. Fortunately, Public Service Broadcasting, despite naming themselves after it, don’t rely too heavily on their gimmick. Their synthy, new wave sound is plenty to carry this groovy track, which is based on several loops of synths and guitars with a poppy, post-punk sound reminiscent of the Cure.
