GEL’s new EP, Persona, simply shreds. GEL is always noisy but never overdo it. Every scream, drum, or strum is with purpose. Their previous EP and LP’s cemented them as the next big thing in hardcore and Persona really shows their growth as a band and their unique capabiltes. This EP’s longest song, Mirage, with a length of 2:53 is one of my favorites from the band. The breakdown towards the end of the track is one of the downright most nastiest things that have ever graced my ears and hearing them perform this song live at a skatepark in Baltimore was probably top 1 coolest things I have ever witnessed. Anyway, the whole EP is 13 minutes long so if you want to experience some utterly insane riffs and energy, please, find 13 extra minutes for Persona.
