Show Spotlight: Beans on Toast with Julia Blake

General Manager

Beans on Toast, Tuesdays 4pm-6pm

Three artists played most on show:
Ellie Goulding, Two Door Cinema Club, and Robyn

First album ever purchased:
New Found Glory- Sticks and Stones (I know it’s kind of embarrassing, but I was in 7th grade, ok??)

Favorite current rack album:
Fun.- Some Nights

Dream Capital Punishment:
Kate Nash because she’s really good with small, intimate venues. She’s very loving to her audience.

Funniest/most embarrassing /most memorable on-air moment at WVAU:
When we get calls for pizza delivery while on air. That’s always a letdown.

Last great concert you saw:
Kate Nash, in Edinburgh, Scotland in this little cavernous club.

Dream band dinner date:
David Guetta. I want to thank him for all the fun dance music, and I want to know how he does it. I just want to see how his mind works. We would probably go to get like Amsterdam Falafel or something. I feel like he’s probably a chill guy.

Favorite music video:
“White Winter Hymnal” by Fleet Foxes

Final thoughts:
Beans on Toast is a wonderful conglomeration of Brit Pop and folky alternative tunes. Who doesn’t love that mixture? Deep down, you know you do.
