Home Made Satan is the second album from Chastity, an alternative/indie rock band. The album takes an excellent transition from their first album Death Lust which had an edgier punk style to a more alternative rock sound that has melodies that seem trance-like at times. Home Made Satan has ten tracks with many of the songs being under three minutes. The album has a lyrical theme of getting through difficult times and wanting to do something exciting with life while still being reserved due to the unknown that life has to offer you. Some songs such as Anxiety and I Still Feel The Same address personal problems such as mental health and wanting to be able to feel something. The album has a unique style with riveting guitar riffs seen in Spirit Meet Up, to softer melodic tracks that make you want to pass away time with close friend seen in Last Year’s Lust. The band has a nice blend of Pink Floyd’s captivating melodies mixed with Radiohead’s and Brand New’s lyrics as well, all with a unique voice and slightly more bold guitar. This album was another album that I needed to review for a week and then on to cranking out the next review, but has been welcomed into my music library and has been on high listen since reviewing it. While I appreciate and like every song on the album with each of them being unique in their own ways, my favorites are Sun Poisoning, Strife and Dead Relatives. Sun Poisoning, is my most played song off the album. It has a very free-flowing vibe and a charming acoustic guitar in the verses with explosive choruses that always make me bop my head up and down. I won’t talk about every song because that is where you come in and need to sit down and listen to them but Strife slaps and Dead Relatives puts you in an enchanting yet eerie feeling. Although Chastity is not a well-known band, they are a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered and blossomed into the music scene.
