AFI will take the stage at The Anthem on October 9 at 8 p.m., bringing nearly three decades of dark punk energy to Washington, DC. Opening the night is TR/ST, setting the tone for AFI’s headlining set.
Since their formation in the early ’90s in California, AFI have established a loyal following through the years with hits like “Miss Murder” and “Girl’s Not Grey”. AFI’s new album, “Silver Bleeds the Black Sun…” (out Oct. 3), dives deeper into their goth and post-punk side, layering moody synths and dark hooks over their signature punk energy. The lead single “Behind the Clock” shows the band leaning into a more atmospheric, cinematic sound while keeping that classic AFI edge.
This Wednesday night at The Anthem promises a high-energy mix of old favorites and new material, with TR/ST kicking the night off. Tickets to see AFI at The Anthem on Oct. 9 are still available here. Doors are at 6:30 p.m., with the show scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
