Moving into winter, what better concert is there to attend than one in which the band’s founding members are from Alaska?
Portugal. The Man began in Wasilla, Alaska in 2004. After moving to Portland, Oregon, they released their debut album titled “Waiter: ‘You Vultures!’” in 2006. Four years and five albums later, they signed with Atlantic Records, who were attracted to their unique sound.
While they gained popularity, they broke out with their hit “Feel It Still,” released in 2017 and on their album “Woodstock”. The song peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and took the Grammy for best pop duo/group performance.
Despite the struggles the band has spoken out about since this success, including addiction, personal loss, and serious health issues, they’ve released two more albums, including one from earlier this year, and they are now on tour through March of 2026.
