Sunny, smart, edgy indie pop.
Virginia-based band Eternal Summers’ newest album The Drop Beneath lives up to the band’s name. Dreamy, light, and poppy, this album encompasses much of what makes summer great. Catchy riffs and verses are punctuated with edgy percussion on tracks like “Never Enough” and “GougeÛ. Vocals are covered primarily by a female lead, whose voice lends itself well to the sunny, relaxing sound throughout The Drop Beneath. The album’s closer is also the title track, and it is a sweet brand of indie pop with overtones of noise rock that ends the album on a high note. Overall, this album is a welcome light at the end of the very long and dreary tunnel that is the winter.
