After the recent censorship of Rihanna‰’s video for “Pour It Up” the rampant censorship of the music video industry is a hot topic. Within ten minutes of being on popular YouTube channel Vevo, the video was censored for featuring female nudity. The video uses dissolves and low lighting to highlight Rihanna‰’s body. Vevo‰’s censorship, particularly on the internet is surprising, but now new to the world of music videos. Here‰’s a list of some videos that have been challenged by the powers that be due to their content.
