Less than a year after releasing the critically-acclaimed Woman alongside producer Robin Hannibal under the name Rhye, Milosh teams up with his wife Alexa Nikolas to release an album that steadily grooves along themes of somber sensuality. Jetlag, available November 26, offers electronic ambience behind lyrics that investigate the complexity of desire.

Something intensely intimate exists in the sounds of Jetlag, which most likely stems from the airy, seductive vocals that hang over beats that never settle into a particular mood for too long. This tension lingers throughout the work and the lyrics only serve to reinforce it.

“These feelings weave together,‰” gasps Milosh in his signature voice on the album‰’s last song “This Time.‰” Jetlag acknowledges that love does not shift between a happy/sad binary, but encompasses an entire range of emotions, both pleasant and unpleasant.

This idea is furthered in the music video for “Slow Down.‰” The minimalism of the video‰’s production mirrors the subtlety of the background track. In the delicately beautiful monochromatic film a woman experiences a spectrum of emotions while driving alone in her car.

The artist‰’s Bandcamp page indicates that the record draws its inspiration from its creators‰’ romantic reunion after long, lost time apart. Certainly this provides a clue as to the origins of Jetlag‰’s captivating raw passion and erotic tension, which both come through clearly in the artists’ seductive words.
