Philadelphia group, Nothing, has made serious headway in the last three years. Alongside bands like Whirr and Ringo Deathstarr, Nothing may soon be another pioneer of shoegaze coming back in new form. Forgetting that front man, Domenic Palermo served time for a stabbing (or maybe factor it in); the overwhelming noise that this band creates is powerful. The effect is the pairing of not only intensity of heavy distortion and drums that run, but intensity of emotion as Palermo lets his mind manifest as eerily floating vocals. “Dig‰Û, their first single off upcoming debut record Guilty Of Everything, is good indicator of the LP and the band‰’s future. As the title suggests, each new listen is like digging deeper to find new sonic gems amongst the layers it all.
