With EP “Shades‰Û, Australian band Tales in Space give fans a short yet sweet taste of what their upcoming full-length album. The EP starts out slow, with rhythmic and mellow opener “The Cause‰” but gives way to upbeat percussion, driving bass, and poppy hooks act as a catchy backdrop for cutesy lyrics and pretty, light vocals, most notably on “Shades‰Û. Album closer, the completely instrumental “Starwars‰” is a fun mix of electric tones and unusual percussion that does in fact have a space-y feel. If this EP is any indication of what Tales in Space‰’s next album entails, you‰’ll want to look out for it.
