Tall Dark & Lonesome- Love Hope Fear (Self-Released)
February 3, 2014
Deep, insightful lyrics over unique and mellow garage rock.
Overall, Love Hope Fear is one of the most aptly named albums ever. In just five songs, Tall Dark & Lonesome embark on a voyage to understand and explain these three difficult emotions. The band tackles this ambitious undertaking with a wide range of musical elements, from an almost folk-sounding acoustic guitar on the album’s opener “The Ocean” to a melodic drum roll on “I Am FutureÛ. Although the music is unique and varying, the lyrics on the album are the real highlight: melancholy, abstract, and poetic with a deep concern for truth and self-realization. This album isn’t the kind you sing or dance along to, but if you’re paying attention, it’s very likely you’ll connect with these songs.
