Tall Dark & Lonesome- Love Hope Fear (Self-Released)

Anna Walsh

Deep, insightful lyrics over unique and mellow garage rock.

Overall, Love Hope Fear is one of the most aptly named albums ever. In just five songs, Tall Dark & Lonesome embark on a voyage to understand and explain these three difficult emotions. The band tackles this ambitious undertaking with a wide range of musical elements, from an almost folk-sounding acoustic guitar on the album‰’s opener “The Ocean‰” to a melodic drum roll on “I Am Future‰Û. Although the music is unique and varying, the lyrics on the album are the real highlight: melancholy, abstract, and poetic with a deep concern for truth and self-realization. This album isn‰’t the kind you sing or dance along to, but if you‰’re paying attention, it‰’s very likely you‰’ll connect with these songs.
