Welsh band Los Campesinos! fifth album “No Blues‰” is a high-energy, eclectic collection of indie rock. The band seems to have matured lyrically from their earlier works, demonstrated by the poignant moments of reflection on “A Portrait of the Trequartista As A Young Man‰Û. Passionate vocals, poppy hooks, and rhythmic choruses give several songs an anthemic feel, and maintain a sense of fun despite the more serious lyrics. The band also experiments a bit with noise elements and heavy synth throughout, which sets this album apart from your run of the mill indie rock.
