Alternative-Pop, Indie, generic

Remember listening to alternative-pop music alone in your room when you were in middle school? Faraday Wave by We Do This is bring back that early 2000s alternative-pop and attempts to update it by adding an indie sound. The six song EP consists of generic lyrics over an alt-pop sound that doesn‰’t bring anything new to the table. Coupled with unimaginative chords throughout the album, the most glaring problem with the songs is the repetitive harmonies on every single track. For example on the track, ‰ÛNobody‰’s Going Home‰” the lyric, “everybody‰” is repeated for the last 30 seconds of the song, which would be fine if the band did not continue to do that on almost every track that followed. Additionally, the lead singers voice doesn‰’t add anything to the songs as the band attempts to give the album an indie sound. We Do This is a new band out of Australia and unfortunately their first album release they fell short sonically and lyrically.
