88 92 is Houston-based quintet Wild Moccasins ode to rock bands of the 80s, with strong vocals eerily reminiscent of Debbie Harry from the band‰’s female vocalist Zahira Gutierrez. Gutierrez‰’s vocalist can be best heard on 88 92‰’s standout song “Emergency Broadcast‰” a throwback to rock ballad of the 80s with Gutierrez‰’s roaring vocals and hard guitar hooks and catchy bass line that‰’s hard not to love. While at times, the mass amount of noise the album brings can be a little too much to handle, for the most part its a treat to listen to. Another standout on the album is “Gag Reflections‰” a summery little piece that showcases the band‰’s ability to produce a softer sound. 88 92 packs a punch with pulsating sounds and amazing vocal talent.
