The boys are back

Dylan Baldi is a genius. With each Cloud Nothings album, he expands his musicality. It‰’s hard to believe that less than four years ago he recorded his first LP in his parents‰’ basement and released it as a solo album. Since then, he has provided the world with two other full-length albums where he has revealed a different part of himself in each. The single from the bands fourth album, “I‰’m Not Part of Me,‰” opens with a distorted guitar solo leading to the powerful opening line, “It starts right now,‰” which is delivered in such a way that it‰’s instantly captivating, and makes audiences stop and listen to what Baldi has to say. As the song enters into the chorus, his notorious strained vocals can be heard, singing with every bit of emotion that is within him. This song is gritty, melodic, gnarly, lo-fi, intense, and everything else in between, incorporating every defining element of Cloud Nothings as a band since it all began. If this single is any indication of what is to come, Here and Nowhere Else will be their best album to date; just when we thought they couldn‰’t get any better.
