Quirky and creative indie pop that is always at a high point

PT Walkley‰’s newest album, Shoulders is the epitome of perfect indie pop. From the album opener “Leeches‰Û, with the cutesy and creative line “I‰’d rather let leeches treat me like a milkshake than spend another minute without you‰” to album closer “A Toast”‘s declaration of the importance of love, this album is fun, upbeat, and quirky. Several songs have a swaying beachy feel, and a island-like horns section (for example, “Rose Coloured Glasses‰Û), while others are reminiscent of The Black Keys, with bluesy overtones and full vocal melodies. Punchy guitar riffs, driving percussion, and energetic vocals keep this album chock full of anthemic tunes that beg to be danced to. Overall, this album should bring you nothing but joy, so it is in your best interest to check it out.
