Indie rock that will resemble a lot of your favorite bands

“Night Chills‰” is the A-side of So Many Wizards‰’ newly released 7‰Û, and is the more upbeat tune of the two. It begins with a very heavy bass backing, and is quickly joined by a dreamy guitar riff quietly strumming away in the background, shaping perfectly around Nima Kazerouni‰’s vocals. One of the highlight moments of the song is the brief, but melodic, guitar solo following the first chorus, much like a riff you could find in a Beach Fossils or Real Estate song. Nearing the end, there is another condensed, and more chromatic guitar solo, which isn‰’t necessarily congruent with the rest of the song, but it actually works. The B-side, “Daydream,‰” is relatable for any college student. The opening melody mirrors the lyrics almost perfectly. Kazerouni sings, “Oh my God, where did the day go?‰” while there are mundane riffs plugging away right alongside the vocals. This, undoubtedly, is a song you could be listening to when it‰’s four in the afternoon and still laying in bed, but it will make you feel less guilty for doing so. These two songs are a wonderful pairing on this 7‰Û; they compliment each other well, but are different enough that it keeps listeners interested. The brief intricacies within both of the songs will make you yearn for more So Many Wizards.
