Like Animal Collective, but poppier

ceo is an Swedish electronic performer whose sophomore album “Wonderland” creates a weird and eerie atmosphere while listening. Each song creates a different feeling that is reminiscent of some kind of childhood moment. Like in the song “Whorehouse,” which was also my favorite track on the album – it’s like you’re at a carnival thanks to the background music and the melody. “Whorehouse” also has this interesting really fast chorus that sounds like it’s being sung by a kid who’s out of breath and it has this pop element that just makes it fit so perfectly. In other songs like “Mirage,” it’s like you’re in a school yard and listening to kids playing and in “Wonderland” it sounds like a mixture between a club and a children’s tv show soundtrack. This album is really good if you’re into music like Animal Collective, but with a more pop heavy sound instead of distortion. In the future, I think that ceo could tighten up the production, since a major problem I found was lack of structure.
