I‰’m sure we all know that there‰’s a science to producing a good pop album- a producer‰’s magic touch to make it the perfect amount of irresistibly catchy, incredibly easy to dance to, and contagiously head-bobbing. Never in a million years did I expect the Fins to perfect this craft. Satellite Stories did their homework and got an A , gold star. There‰’s power-guitar riffs just rad enough that the vocalist has to compete to keep his edge and the magic of a slapping bass and neverending drumset to keep you grooving. It‰’s upbeat pop with the chillest of melodies held down by frontman Esa Mankinen. Pine Trails manages to capture all the zest of a live performance and polish it into one cohesive album of pure energy. Every song sounds like a budding romance- rich with passion, a hint of butterflies, and making you just a bit happier to roll out of bed in the morning. It‰’s fresh, it‰’s Finnish, it‰’s fantastic.
