New As Dew is Ruby the Rabbitfoot‰’s sophomore album, and this quirky Athens based artist has made something unique. The album is a blend of folk and pop, her voice is soft and sweet with a little sass from time to time. The tracks are catchy, with bright beats and repetitious melodies of simple piano and guitar that drive the songs forward. All of these pieces come together to create what has the potential to be endearing and commercially successful, or just downright annoying. But Ruby swerves just before she crashes into the fate of becoming just another Ingrid Michaelson, and pulls of a fun album that Tumblr addicts clad in bright tunics are bound to love.
