Desert Noises- 27 Ways (SQE Music)
March 19, 2014
Impressive debut effort from a creative indie rock band.
Desert Noise’s debut album 27 Ways is refreshing and upbeat addition to the realm of modern indie rock. High-energy songs that pack punchy percussion, rootsy-rock guitar riffs with overtones of 80s alternative and New York punk. Desert Noises bring more passion to vocals and lyrics than most, which offers a welcome alternative to the overdone airy vocals of much of today’s indie. Musically, this album is a new take on old tricks, and promises to be a great experience live. The album is so cohesive and ambitious that you’d think it was coming from the midst of a seasoned, well-established band’s catalogue, not an up-and-coming band’s debut. Passion and innovation are the cornerstones of 27 Ways and hopefully Desert Noise will include these traits in any future work.
