Introducing the genre of Space-Pop.

Ice Cream Cathedral has put their own spin on the traditional dream pop genre to create an even more atmospheric sound. The band formed in Copenhagen where they released their debut album, The Drowsy Kingdom, almost a year ago. The vocals are delicate and whimsical, similar to those of Victoria Legrand of Beach House and Anna Fox Rochinski of Quilt. The synthesizers sound as if they came right off of a soundtrack from a sci-fi film, incorporating different timbres that are twangy yet sparkling. Despite constantly changing the style of the instrumentals, the songs can become a bit redundant near the middle of the album. “An Armful of Rubies,‰” The Volume of Your Voice,‰” and “Let‰’s Collide Like Trains in the Underground‰” embodies their self-proclaimed “space-pop‰” style, which will capture your attention and transport you to another world.
