Contagious rock n‰’ roll in its most traditional form.

The Strypes, who hail from Ireland, bring on their full-length debut “Snapshot‰” the hope that classic rock n‰’ roll is very much alive. The rootsy, bluesy, and down and dirty elements of 50s rock collides with the energy, speed, and passion of 70s punk to make this album‰’s melodies and lyrics downright contagious. “Snapshot‰” even includes an upbeat, edgy rendition of Bo Diddley‰’s classic “You Can‰’t Judge a Book By the Cover‰” that actually does the original justice. The Strypes are the second coming of those jittery riffs and punchy percussion that sparked the rise of rock n‰’ roll way back when, at a time when the genre really needs it. Even better, the band brings this old-school style to the modern age, so that their sound is not just a ripoff, but a refreshing combination of old and new.
