Noble Kin- Cornish Litany (Paracadute)

Noble Kin:The So So Glos :: Melatonin:Caffeine

This one man-Brooklyn band simultaneously exudes melodic poetry and brings The So So Glos to mind. With a large lyrical focus on the folk created in the NY scene, Cornish Litany adds a rock twist to the idea of one man with an acoustic. The soothing vocals, almost whispering, play off choral harmonies throughout the entire album to give the album a dream-like quality. There‰’s an unnamable aura of comfort in them, like a lullabye hidden in your subconscious that‰’s starting to jog your memory. The melodies dance with variety and earnestly, making you wish you could learn the lyrics fast enough to sing along, with an underplayed guitar to give the songs some variety. There‰’s a psychedelic quality to the bassline, barely audible, but grooving and persistent. The drumset succeeds in keeping a low-key beat and keeps the overarching sound grounded. Noble Kin are easy-going, accessible, and down-right good music; providing homey honesty with a twist of Brooklyn flavor.
