Shy is the opposite of Avigdor Zahner-Isenberg, the 23-year-old lead vocals and guitar of southern California‰’s Avi Buffalo. The lyrics are quirky and verge on uncomfortable, about winning over girls and sneaking into camp sites. But the melodies and instrumentation, which takes turns being energetic, bouncy or sweet, are matured and impressive.

It‰’s an odd pairing: Zahner-Isenberg‰’s boyish voice with rich layers of feedback, jangly guitars and healthy riffs to fill the inbetweens.

At Best Cuckold continues upon their first and self-titled record, allowing this one to bring in more fans before tweaking their sound. What starts off as an innocent indie-pop piano ballad, “Oxygen Tank‰” flawlessly transforms into an all-jokes-aside seriously awesome psychedelic guitar outro.

Don‰’t skip over what might be your new favorite band.
