Burger garage rock made not by twenty-year-olds.

Following Burger record‰’s reissue of their Devolver Anthology two years ago or so, vintage garage band the Prefab Messiahs have hit the studio again to produce the eight songs of Keep Your Stupid Dreams Alive. The music harkens back to what the Messiahs have always been known to do but fits perfectly in the context of the Burger‰’s 2010‰’s garage takeover. The band delivers fuzzy guitar thrashing tunes with a dose of healthy tongue-in-cheek-ness. The Prefab Messiahs, formed in the eighties, utilize synth and new electronics on Keep Your Stupid Dreams Alive, combine newer psych sounds with the power garage pop. “Bobb‰’s Psychedelic Car‰” uses swirly vocals with an odd electronic tweet to create a neo-psychedelia sound. “College Radio‰” is an uptempo, heavy guitar track that employs some weird vocals that really exemplify the air of quirkiness to the album. The title of the album might be referring to the dreams of the band themselves after being around for over thirty years. It‰’s inspiring…. or stupid as The Prefab Messiahs put it. Nevertheless, you can rest assured that the band is still putting out some killer garage tracks.
