This video hit the mark on a lot of things, especially when it came to the
One dispute I do have with the video is its lack of action. While I loved the hazy hotel room scenes, that accounted for a good percentage of the video’s footage, it would have been nice to see some more action outside of the bedroom, maybe giving more insight into their relationship or even background for why they broke up.
On the other hand, the lack of action does play a vital role in the video’s meaning. For those of us who have encountered an ex or even thought about them on random days, most of the memories that pop up are the beautiful, most emotional filled ones. While we might remember details or days filled with being in love, lust trumps all, especially when it comes to rationalizing why you want to get back together with the person. Then reality hits, and you remember why you broke up with them in the first place. The video basically portrays the cycle of nostalgia, which is something that a lot of people can relate to.
