You Might Not Know Them But You Should: Diana Silvers

Multi-talented actress and model, Diana Silvers, is breaking into a new form of artistry through music. Her debut album, “From Another Room,” came out last November, nearing the end of her very first tour, when she supported Jon Batiste on his Big Money Tour.

Los Angeles-grown Silvers is no stranger to the entertainment and creative fields. She was scouted for modeling at an early age by IMG Models and pursued it through college and still does now. She has appeared on countless runway shows and brand partnerships, including Vogue, Marc Jacobs, and Miu Miu.

While attending New York University, she began taking auditions for movies and TV. After her three years at NYU, she made a breakthrough in acting, starring in multiple movies and shows, mostly in the horror genre.

Aside from modeling and acting, she is a gifted songwriter who lays everything out on the table as she begins to sing her lyrics. The production on her debut project is gentle, tender, and personal as she brings the audience into her world. Her debut was released through Capitol Records under Universal Music Group, setting her up for great connections in the industry.

“Hey June” were the first lyrics we got to hear from Diana Silvers from “June,” the lead single, which funnily enough came out last September not June. It is the perfect introduction to her gentle singing and songwriting style. June encapsulates the entire mellow and acoustic nature of “From Another Room.”

She took a big leap when opening for Jon Batiste last fall. The first two singles, “June” and “Airplane,” came out during the tour, but “From Another Room” had not come out by the time tour started, and didn’t until after the Big Money Tour ended. It was a bold move, but it comes from her self-starter mindset in the arts.

Silvers is an activist and uses her platform as a well-rounded artist to do good. There are stories of fairness in the world all through her songs. In the spring, she released a single titled “Meditation No. 1,” which fits into her delicate and poised style with slightly more production than “From Another Room.” When the song came out, Silvers said, “Our ‘leaders’ do not reflect the empathy we have for each other,” and that is what “Meditation No.1” explores. What is different about this single is that all the proceeds Silvers gets from the single will go to Immigrant Justice, an organization that provides free legal support for immigrants and asylum seekers in the United States.

After a quiet hiatus over the summer, Diana Silvers announced her sophomore album, Daughter of Sorts, will be coming on November 13th. As usual, she has a unique timeline, and for this album, she simultaneously released two lead singles, “Daughter” and “Plans Last Friday.” They sonically align with the work from her debut album, while also evoking different feelings that begin to define the identity of the new record that’s to come.

Throughout this year, she has announced and played her first few headline shows—marking a huge step in her musical career. She has yet to develop a large fan base in music, but again, Diana Silvers takes bold steps. The first one was a free show, which especially caught people’s attention and had a great turnout. Silvers is set to play two more shows to promote Daughter of Sorts this winter in New York and Los Angeles. Diana Silvers is relaxed and free; her music truly demonstrates the pure love she has for her craft. She is dedicated and intentional in everything she does, especially as she rises in the world of music.
