Perfect combination of vocal harmonies and ambient synths.

As we approach the close of the semester, papers, finals, and horrific group projects are the only thing standing between complete freedom and peace of mind. Incan Abraham‰’s debut LP, Tolerance, may be the perfect soundtrack to your summer nights. They encompass the psychedelic/ambient synth style most often compared to Animal Collective, and accompany it with lyrical and delicate vocal harmonies similar to Grizzly Bear‰’s. With a combination like that, it is hard to go wrong. “Concorde‰” was the second single released from the album, and is certainly one of the catchier tunes. It reveals more of the psychedelic infusions. However, Incan Abraham also thrives when they focus less on the synths and more on the harmonies in songs including “All You Want‰” and “Tolerance.‰” Although it is just short of two minutes long, “Desert Hold‰” is sweet and a mellower song with an acoustic guitar backing the vocals perfectly. Its placement on the album is impeccable, allowing listeners to take a step back and admire the beauty in their simplicity.
