Live in the Hive: Saintseneca & LVL UP

Across from the WVAU studio is American University’s apiary, where many Washingtonian bees like to call home. In tribute to our buzzing buddies across the hall, and as the hub of all things independent and eclectic in music at AU, WVAU is proud to announce its new in-studio sessions series: Live in the Hive. Focusing on all the great independent acts on tour and situated in DC, Live in the Hive is here to pollinate DC with intimate performances from some of our favorite bands.

Our first session was with Saintseneca and LVL UP who stopped by before their show at the Black Cat Backstage.

Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, Saintseneca are a fresh face for folk music, filled with great melodies, sing-along choruses, and talented multi-instrumentation. Make sure to check out their new album Dark Arc on April 1st.

LVL UP is soon to be one of the biggest names in indie (or at least we hope so). Last year’s Extra Worlds EP featured stunningly compact songwriting and hooks that’d make their way into the deepest crevices of your mind. They are at work on a new album and highly recommend their split with Exploding In Sound’s Porches.

Make sure to look out for more of our upcoming live sessions, including Speedy Ortiz, All Dogs, Two Inch Astronaut, Grass Is Green, and many more!
