Hot Yoga by Candlelight.

Maybe I just have a different perception of yoga from others, but Comfort in Doubt seems to me to be a much better set list than a string of nature sounds. It‰’s relaxing in a different way, a sensual way. Clearly, there‰’s something sexy about Sama Dams‰’ new album: the long drawls, the way lead singer Sam Adams borders the thin line between talking and singing, skipping the guitar rhythmically, un-rhythmically. It‰’s an interpretive album. Left to your discretion.

Track two especially, “Dirty Work,‰” is pleasantly reminiscent of The Kills‰’ “Future Starts Slow.‰” Although a definitively softer, slower song, I would argue the two songs intersect across the line of passion. It‰’s the deep-rooted emotions behind blurred vocals and coarse chords that are comparable. Though not acclaimed yet, I trust in Sama Dams‰’ future. The Portland freaks will have their claim to fame one day.
