Fair Warning: Beach House‰’s Depression Cherry is gonna be a doozy. Critics say the duo‰’s new album is a return to simplicity, focusing on minimalism and melody—think back to their sophomore effort Devotion. Prepare for a plodding and slightly sorrowful sound. Listening to a live performance of their new track “10:37‰” made me curl up in my chair and spiral into an introspective stupor. Be sure you have a decently cozy nest, a soft pillow, and a strong emotional support system ready for when August 28^th rolls around.
