Chances are, if you have listened to any music within the last decade, you have heard a track produced by Devon Hynes, better known by his stage name, Blood Orange. Last year, he opened for both Lorde and Turnstile on tours, but now he is headlining the stage. Lorde and Brendan Yates of Turnstile also contributed to his newest album, along with Caroline Polachek, Daniel Caesar, Mustafa and more. His most recent project, Essex Honey, has been critically acclaimed for its signature production and lyrics. The album, in Hynes’ own words, is a “personal exploration of grief and his upbringing in Essex, England.”
On March 3, Hynes will bring his latest era to The Anthem in Washington, D.C., with support from the TLF Trio and Tariq Saleem Al-Sabir. The show is guaranteed to transform the Wharf’s spacious venue into something far more intimate. It isn’t too late to catch tickets to the must-see show! Doors are at 6:30 p.m., with the show starting at 8:00.
