On Nov. 23, Adrianne Lenker will grace The Anthem with her melancholy indie folk sound and refreshingly intimate stage presence. Lenker has gained success for both her raw vocal talent and songwriting abilities that transform a simple melody into a deeply emotional journey.
This concert is part of her 13-stop tour across the United States and Canada, which began just two weeks after Lenker received a Grammy nomination for her most recent album, “Bright Future,” in the Best Folk Album category. This is her sixth Grammy nomination, and the only one for a solo project, separate from her work with her band, Big Thief.
It’s hard to pinpoint a breakout hit that captures Lenker’s rise to success, but “anything” and “Vampire Empire” by Big Thief, are defining tracks that have attracted more fans. At the concert, Lenker is expected to perform a variety of solo songs and selections from Big Thief.
Folk artist Suzanne Vallie will open for her, setting the stage for a soulful and transcendent night of music. The large yet intimate Anthem will serve as the perfect venue for Lenker to deliver her heartfelt ballads to a large crowd of, probably crying, fans.
To the fans who already bought tickets to this sold out show, get excited to see Adrianne Lenker and Suzanne Vallie perform at The Anthem on Nov. 23!
