The group released their first EP “What a Drag” in 2015. It wasn’t until 2022, however, that their song “Sex, Drugs, Etc.” found fame on TikTok. At that time, Beach Weather had been on personal hiatus for five years, but their overnight success inspired the members to get back in the studio. What followed was their first full-length album, “Pineapple Sunrise.”
Upcoming album “Melt” marks a departure from Beach Weather’s light, indie-inspired sound in older singles like “Chit Chat” and “Trouble With This Bed.” The leading single off “Melt,” titled “High in Low Places,” reflects on how companionship can get us through even the toughest of times, above a throbbing and bass-heavy background.
Beach Weather’s short but mighty discography truly has something for everyone, from those who like summery indietronica (“Home Movies”) to grungy anthems (“Unlovable”) to crunchy guitar-led power chords (“Hottest Summer on Record”). Listen to the four tracks from “Melt” out now, and don’t forget to check out the album when it drops on Oct. 25!
