The Funklordz are coming back to D.C.!
Lifelong best friends Dave-1 and P-Thugg are the two DJs who together form Chromeo. The Montreal-based duo released their newest album, “Adult Contemporary,” in February of 2024. This project comes nearly two decades after their breakout single “Needy Girl,” off of their debut album “She’s in Control.”
“Adult Contemporary” meditates on the trials and tribulations of modern millennial dating above funk- and disco-influenced dance beats. The album features the band’s first talk-box track, vocalized by P-Thugg and titled “Two of Us (Friendsnlovers, Pt. 2).” From a collaboration with electronic group La Roux on “Replacements,” a groovy bass-heavy single on “Personal Effects” and a tongue-in-cheek ode to a good night’s rest on “BTS,” Chromeo’s “Adult Contemporary” shows how Dave-1 and P-Thugg have matured as much as their audience.
Don’t miss out on a night of dancing at Chromeo’s “Chrome Nights” tour! The Midnight and Girl Ultra will open the show at the Anthem on October 3. Tickets are still available for purchase at https://www.ticketmaster.com/chromeo-the-midnight-washington-district-of-columbia-10-03-2024/event/
