Expect a night of poetic lyricism and lush folk-rock as Father John Misty takes the stage at The Anthem on March 1. The singer-songwriter—also known as Josh Tillman—is sure to deliver a performance filled with humor, heartache and intelligent lyricism.
Since stepping into the spotlight as Father John Misty with his debut album “Fear Fun” in 2012, Tillman has captivated audiences with his blend of folk, rock and psychedelic sounds. His latest album, “Mahashmashana,” sees him embracing ‘70s pop rock and intriguing storytelling that is both ironic and deeply felt, making this tour sure to be one of his most exciting yet.
The Anthem’s spacious yet intimate setting will allow fans to fully immerse themselves in Father John Misty’s evocative world, where satire, romance and hurt merge into beautiful music. Adding to the evening’s allure, Canadian indie rock band Destroyer will open the show, whose folk and soft-rock sound should offer a great transition into Father John Misty’s set.
Tickets to see Father John Misty at The Anthem on March 1 are still available for purchase here. Doors are at 6:30 p.m., with Destroyer opening.
