For comedy and cinema lovers, On Cinema is the perfect way to spend a night out.
Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington’s show features movie reviews in the form of satire and comedic conflict. Their style is inspired by Siskel and Ebert, a previous and extremely popular American film critic duo.
Since their debut in 2011, numerous spin-off series have been created, such as “Decker” on Adult Swim, which revolved around a Steve Seagal and Trump-inspired spy plot and was on air for several years. Others include the “Stage Show”, a coffee-table episode guidebook, a courtroom murder trial, and the short film “Mister America” (2019).
The live show features a movie review panel and a variety show. The latest season, season 16, is available to stream on heinetowork.tv.
On Cinema performs at Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C. as part of The Certified “Five Bags of Popcorn” tour. Originally an epicenter of culture for Washington D.C.’s Black community, the theater now hosts numerous events attracting diverse audiences and hosting artists and speakers like Kendrick Lamar and Margaret Atwood.
Tickets for On Cinema at Lincoln Theatre on April 1 are still available for purchase here. Doors are at 7:00 p.m.
