Concert Preview: Vince Staples

You may or may not have heard of the rapper, Vince Staples. He was featured on multiple albums of other artists, such as Billie Eilish, Tyler, The Creator, Lil Yachty, Jhené Aiko and Earl Sweatshirt. Not only that, he is also on the soundtrack of two well-known movies: “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” and “Black Panther.” He released his album, “Dark Times,” earlier this year and is featured in the recently released song “Know Better” by Kehlani alongside Lil’ Mo.

Vince Staples also has his own comedy show called “The Vince Staples Show” that can be found on Netflix, and has acted in other roles such as Maurice in the sitcom “Abbott Elementary.” Since his association with the hip-hop/rap collective Odd Future—a group composed of famous artists like Tyler, The Creator, Frank Ocean and Earl Sweatshirt—and his 2013 collaborative mixtape with Mac Miller, Staples has made a name for himself and continues to share his unique style of music with the world.

You can see Vince Staples perform with R&B/Soul singer Baby Rose (who is from Washington, D.C.!) at The Anthem on Oct. 24, 2024. General Admission tickets are $40 (minus fees) on Ticketmaster, so check it out if you’re looking for an artist that will energize your night!
