If you’re in DC on Sun., Feb. 16, check out Toro y Moi and Panda Bear’s show at 9:30 club. It’s on the earlier side, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Toro y Moi is the project of Chaz Bear, a South Carolina native. He is a singer, songwriter and producer known for his big hits: “Ordinary Pleasure” and “The Difference.” The full-length LP, “Hole Erth,” released in Sept. of last year, spans the genres of rap, rock and jazz—this is the album he is currently touring.
Panda Bear, the second act of the night, is the outfit of Noah Benjamin Lennox. He is also the co-founder of the band Animal Collective. Panda Bear is based in Charlottesville, Virginia, and has been releasing music under this name since 2004. Known for their electronic, psychedelic and pop influences, their new project “Sinister Gift,” which will be released at the end of this month, is sure to blow you away.
